Duties and Responsibilities

uties and Responsibilities:

3.1 Responsible for providing effective and helpful wound care management to

the patients.

3.2 Provide effective and responsive wound ca”re management to patient by

managing and coordinating the overall activities per hospital policy.

3.3 Formulate plan of activities to manage wound care in the assigned unit.

3.4 Update and submits monthly reports to the department head for the wound

care assessment of each patient.

3.5 Educate nursing staff on wound care /pressure injury related hospital policies.

3.6 Collaborates with head nurses and nursing staffs in the standardization

of methods , policies and procedures which can affect the delivery of patient’s wound care.

3.7 Review and revise the written policies and procedures for any updates in

evidence based practices about wound care management pressure injury management.

3.8 coordinate to the concerned health care practitioner for any changes in the

practice in pressure injury management.

3.9 Conduct inventory /logistics report for patients unit in terms of equipment,

supplies related to wound care /pressure injury management.

3.10 Assists and coordinates with the department head/Head

Nurse/nursing staff the

laboratory result for wound culture and refer to attending

physician and

infection control department.

3.11 Oversee all patients unit for the equipment and supplies necessary

for wound

care management.

3.r2 Supervise nursing staffs and review functions and services.

3.13 Mentor Mentoring the staffs in wound care management (train

& educate all

nursing staff including the use

of Braden scale , monitoring the pressure injury

risk factor of the patient , proper

skin assessment and sterile dressing

procedures.)

3.14 Maintain a harmonious relationship with the nursing staff and other health

care practitioner to have effective

implementation of pressure injury/wound care activities.

3.15 Have effective and open communication

to all nursing staff & other health care practitioner to address the patient,s needs.

3.16 coordinates with the nursing staff

and other health team member to

implement standardized care plan to all patients risk for developing pressure

injury . Do referrals and consultations as necessary.

3.17 Monitor health education given to patients and

family

3.18 Act as a resource person

for the staff in interpreting and implementing the policies ,procedures and guidelines related to pressure injury .

3.19 Guides , counsels and evaluates in executing

their responsibilities and duties as defined by the job description and performance

competencies of staff in

relation to wound care management and safety requirements.

3.20 Conduct health education to staffs that needs improvement based

on the competency skills.

3.21 Coordinates with nursing education and

staff development for all educational

activities for the nursing staff.

3.22 Motivates nurses to participate in nursing research related pressure

irjury.

3.23 Updates pressure injury interventions related

to evidence based practice and standards ofcare.

3.24 Enhance the skills of nursing

staffs through education, competency and

giving

offeedback.

3.25 Actively involved in the

orientation of new staff for all related policies.

3.26 Updates oneself through attending

conferences, seminars with paramedical

team for efficient delivery

of standard patient’s wound care management.

3.27 Conduct activities on surveillance .e.g visit patient once

per week for all high

risk and every 2 weeks for all patient in the unit as scheduled visit.

3.28 Act as a consultant on pressure injury related wounds and recommends

appropriate procedures and techniques to prevent pressure injury.

3.29 Be a resource person by providing references related to pressure injury both

community and hospital acquired pressure injury.

3.30 Conduct formal or informal education to all nursing staff , patients and

families.

3.31 Conduct In-service education to all nursing staff e.g dressing techniques ,

principles of aseptic technique , medical asepsis and other related procedures.
