Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Resnonsibilities:

3.1 Maintains the established hospital and nursing department policies

procedures, mission, vision, values statement, goals

and ensures all nursing

understands the essence and

works for its attainment. an

3.2 Maintains nursing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program.

Operational and personnel policies and procedures.

3.3 Onsite review regarding quality issues (i.e. patients

safety, health services ,

facilities, equipment and supplies).

3.4 Evaluate reviews with Director

of Nursing

, Deputy Director of Nursing ,

Medical Director and Director for

Cel -pS.

3.5 Document and conduct investigations

with regards to complaints, reviewing

administrative claims and data gathering

and compiling quality improvement

reports.

3.6 Developing and implementing

corrective action plans, recommending

improvements

to quality and develop data outcome reports.

3’7 Provide ongoing evaluation and consultation to the nursing

staff about proper

procedure, problem

solving and patient safety as

well as evaluating the qualiiy and

appropriateness of Nursing care and documentation

of care proceduies.

3.8 Analyse and evaluate the quality of Nursing Services

through Key performance

Indicator (KPI) on a monthly basis and make appropriate

action tt improve the

performance indicators.

3’9 Plan

, Organize and implement quality risk management/improvement program

base on the needs

of the units/staf7department.

3.10 Helps to assure excellent patient care by determining

the nursing staffstrengths

and weakness by performing periodic

audits of nursing proceduri and analyiing

data.

3.11 Promotes quality patient care by overseeing the necessary

equipment and supplies

are available and functional.

3.12 Ensure the staff follow

the infection control policy through continues quality

assurance audit and coordinate

with the infection control coordinator

3.13 Coordinates in the delivery of a plan of Health care

with all members of the

health team.

3.14 Maintains competency

and professional currency through self -directed

professional reading, developing professional

contacts with colleagues , attending

professional development courses, and

attending training/o. corrres .equired by the

coordinator.

3.15 Contributes to the successful operation

of Prince Sultan Armed Forces Hospital

by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned

3.16 Participate in strategic analysis and planning

for quality improvement.

3.16.1 Identift key clinical improvement areas

in line with MSD ,SBAHI ,JCI

Standards.

3.16.2 Assessment and analysis of practice needs and identification of problems

or

issues with the existing health services

3-16.3 Contribute

to programme development

to support improved safe quality

nursing care including education and self -management programmes.

3.17 Up-skill and provide ongoing support

to improved safe quality nursing care by

all nursing staff through team work, leadership and quarity systems.

3.17.1 Increase the use of best practice guidelines

3.17.2 Contribute to the development and implementation

of clinical pathways.

3.17.3 Contribute

to the review of the current system and contribute

to the

development of future systems to improve care.

3.17

-4 Provide coaching and mentoring to develop competency skills

3.18 Assures a work culture of respect and diversity

that is reflective on the mission

vision of the hospital.

3.19 Maintains confidentially of information from unauthorized person

3.20 Acts as advocate

to protect and promote patient rights patient

to autonomy,

respect, privacy, dignity and

culture and religious beliefs of patient.

3.21 Maintain effective communication with other member of the Multidisciplinary

team, to ensure that appropriate communication is shared

and patient’s needs are

met.

3.22 Maintains professional working relationship

with colleagues and other health

professionals in the hospital.

3.23 participates in the orientation and ongoing education of new nursing staff (i-e.

Patients safety) .

3.24 Ensure on going personal and professional development in line with specialty
