This is a three-year Financial Modeler role based in Dubai where you will learn more about venture capital and gain a deeper understanding of the technologies that are changing the MENA region for the better. Being part of a lean team allows you to immerse yourself deep into deals, portfolio companies and meet many founders and stakeholders directly. While the role requires interpersonal skills and curiosity, we are looking for candidates that are well-versed with solving problems, can pick up new things quickly, are strong with financial modeling and are passionate about technology. Candidates should have at least 5 years of work experience in an environment that encompasses these characteristics.
An ideal candidate should already be based in the UAE and ready to start by end of Q4 2020/beginning of Q1 2021. The main responsibilities for this Financial Modeler role include, but are not limited to the following activities:
Financial Modeling & Due Diligence
-Advanced Financial Modeling: Prepare in-depth and robust financial models from scratch for existing and new portfolio companies (financial forecasts, unit economics analysis, CAC/LTV modeling, etc.).
-Valuation: Perform valuation modeling on each investment opportunity and carry out sensitivity analysis to address risks and produce differentiated scenarios to test IRRs and investment hurdles across companies in a wide range of industries.
-Cap Table: Understanding cap table simulations, including concepts such as waterfalls, liquidation preferences, dilution, etc.
-Analyzing company financial statements/forecasts and dissecting it to fully understand and present findings to the investment team and partners.
-Performing quantitative market research, which assists in the diligence process for potential investments. This can be researching themes and sector trends, comparable companies (public and private), market dynamics and drivers to derive insights and an understanding into businesses.
-Collect all relevant research and analysis required for compiling investment memos for new and existing opportunities. Contribute to creating all IM’s from initial memos all the way up to follow-on memos.
-Track macro trends globally and in the Middle East as it pertains to the technology sector and our portfolio companies.
