JOB PURPOSE:
- Under the general direction of the General Manager / Delegate, and within the limits of established EHC and local hotel policies and procedures, responsible for ensuring the operations of the Housekeeping Department in an attentive, friendly, efficient, and courteous manner, providing all guests with quality service and a clean and safe environment throughout their stay, while efficiently managing expenses and maximizing service levels
Description
Policies, Processes & Procedures
- Recommends improvements to departmental policy and directs the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of the Housekeeping activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers
Budget
- Prepares and recommends the Housekeeping section budget by preparing analysis and data related to specific elements as directed
- Monitors the financial performance of the Housekeeping section against budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon
Day-to-day operations
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping section to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes, and procedures
Housekeeping
- Ensures the continued achievement of high cleanliness standards for both rooms and public areas and inspects them to ensure that standards are met
- Administrates guest satisfaction inspection procedures and reviews reports to achieve high levels of service standards
- Maintains key control and lost-and-found, and ensures staff is trained to follow correct procedures for both
- Manage the planning of work schedules and room assignments with minimum disruption to guests to ensure room readiness
- Ensures Floor Supervisors are delivering great guest service by encouraging responsiveness to guest needs.
People Management
- Supervises the activities and work of subordinates by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets
Continuous Improvement
- Stimulates subordinates and contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement
Reporting
- Supervises the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet company and department requirements, policies, and standards
Safety, Quality & Environment
- Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality,, and environmental management policies, procedures,, and controls across the section to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance,, and a responsible environmental attitude
