Contract Specialist – Johnson Controls

What you will do
The Contract Review Specialist will directly report to the Contracts Manager for the Middle East region. You will be based either in Dubai or Abu Dhabi to support the Johnson Controls businesses on the Contracts and other legally binding documents review on priority during the Sales (Pre-award) stage. The core responsibilities will be to identify the risks and mitigate it by the use of appropriate amendments to Contract language and/or risk transfers. Liaise with other departments, stakeholders to understand the project, scope and to appraise it on the stringent requirements under the Contract to allow for costs and/or risk management. You will be involved in negotiations with the Customers and facilitate internal approvals and contract signing as per Johnson Controls policies & guidelines.

How you will do it
As a Contract Review Specialist, you will use your expertise to review Contracts in line with the Checklist, Golden Amendments, Contract Review Process to identify risks, pitfalls and mitigation measures via transfer or annulment of risk by use of appropriate amendments to Contract language, other responsibilities include;
[ Review contracts terms & conditions, and other legally binding documents during the pre-sales stage
[ Identify Restrictive Trade Practices under the Contract, report it via formal procedures and negotiate such non-permissible practices out of the Contract
[ Priorities and facilitate Legal review as applicable to finalize the Contracts
[ Negotiate Contract Terms & Conditions via formal stakeholder interaction to the best possible position in a timely manner
[ Support Finance on Bank Guarantee negotiation (where required)
[ Liaise with Sales, Pre-Sales, Estimation and Operations teams to better understand the risk profile to establish assumptions, and appraise it of the stringent requirements under the Contract to consider costs and/or risk management
[ Facilitate internal approvals and authorized signature as per company policies
[ Work closely with Contracts Manager on any Pre-Contract issues, and provide inputs for improving and streamlining the process
